August Ministry Update!

Hello friends!!

Welcome to my first blog post! August has flown by but God is moving. August is one of the busiest months for college ministry as freshman are arriving and there are so many events put on by the campus and Focus! Let's dive into this past month!

August 1st started off with a boom! I had my first day of apprentice classes (we have been reading through the Old Testament) and we had our licensing ceremony. This is a photo of me and the other apprentices.

The next week we left for staff retreat where we all gathered to rest, and discuss the year ahead. It was honestly emotional for me being there and knowing that the people around me have such a heart for Christ and these students.

After staff retreat I spent a week in classes and then it was time to head into welcome week! It was extremely fruitful and we reached so many new students! I spent most of my days outreaching and meeting students. We also had our first TNF (Thursday night fellowship) and it was the largest turn out EVER! How exciting!!! Here's some pics from welcome week!

After welcome week it was time to host my first core of the year with my cofa Sarah! Some of you might be wondering what those words are, so let me explain! Core is what others may call a small group. We say core because they really are the core of our ministry. I have made some of my best friends through my past cores. Sarah and I are co-core facilitators (corefas).

Our first core was so sweet! The girls were very open and eager! There was one girl who really asked some great questions and it opened the floor to more discussion! After core we decided to do a little trip to sonic and we snatched this photo!

Here are some other favorite photos from this month!

Spider-man came to say hi while we were tabling

Some girls from my church decided to all wear overalls!

As August comes to a close I want to extend my gratitude to those reading this. Whether you support me through prayer or financially I wouldn't be able to do this without you. The fruit we are seeing here at UTA is possible because of your investment in this ministry. I am so excited to see what God will continue to do this year! THANK YOU!!!

I want to ask you to join me in praying over these next few weeks as I start to get into a routine with a more regular schedule. I have been in Arlington for close to 2 months and would just love prayer over this new place in life. Lastly will you pray for the girls that I will be one on one studying the bible with. Praying that the spirit would lead those conversations and that they would be excited to learn!

Blessings,
Madison

  1. Madison, I'm so excited for how God is using you for His Glory in just a short couple of months! I'm praying for you, girl, and all of the staff and students involved! Thanks for the great pictures and updates! I can't wait to hear about what God's faithfulness is doing in your life and the lives of the students you will be interacting with! Godspeed to you and your ministry!!
