November Update!!

Hello Friends!

I'm so excited to share another update about what God is doing at UTA!! Let's talk about October❤

The majority of this month was consistent with our routine schedule. We started the month with our fall camps, which allowed the rest of my weekends to be free to spend with students! Something that was of high value to me as a student was my weekend friends. Since I lived in Denton full time, I spent the majority of my weekends with community. This past month I wanted to be a weekend friend to those around me. Spending time with people in "outside of ministry" events is one of the most formative ways to build a community. We can have fun that is rooted in the freedom Christ has to offer. We spend time with others that leave us feeling rested and encouraged.

There was a group of 9 of us that went on a 3-mile hike! Afterwards, my body was pretty tired, but my spirit was elated! We spent the hike talking about our lives, and how Jesus was moving. Then we spent the last 15 minutes of our hike singing worship songs (very off-key and out of breath lol)! To the other people on the hiking trail, we probably sounded crazy, but to us and God we were in fellowship lifting praise. It was so sweet that we even extended our day by going to lunch, and then to a coffee shop to play board games! How sweet!!!

Another update is that my classes are going well! Next week is our last Old Testament class (crazy!!)
This class has been incredibly impactful for me. I was not well versed in the Old Testament and was pretty unfamiliar with how to even read it. In our class we have been reading through it, and following a course lecture taught by Iain Provan (an Old Testament scholar) and reading Introduction to the Old Testament : Longman, Dillard. It has been so detrimental with understanding the context and content within each book. There is so much more behind the words on the page. It has helped me see Gods faithfulness in such a more full way.

!Now for some more pictures!

Overall I still can't believe how fast this year is flying by. I truly am grateful that I am getting to do this, and that your generosity has made this opportunity possible. God is moving here and I am excited to see ways I can lean into what God is doing here at UTA!!

Prayer Requests:

As we head into the holiday season that means our students are entering into the rigorous study season for finals. Will you pray for them as they do that? Also, pray that cores and tnf can be a place to be free from that and be poured into.

Also, I would love to pray for you as we enter into the holiday season. Please let me know what I can be praying for!

With Love,
Madison
