December Update!

Hello Friends!

Im so excited you're here ❤ Let's talk about Gods movement in the month of November.

This month has been nothing short of its primary theme. Gratitude has found its way into almost most of my thoughts when I have been thinking through what God is doing. God is good, and for that I am grateful. He is moving abundantly the the hearts of our students, staff and myself. I am very excited to see what he will continue to do.

A verse I am currently trying to write on my heart is
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matt 11:28-30
I want to fully embrace the character of God and something that I am praying through and hope you will join me in praying for would be that I could lean into being gentle, humble and lowly in spirit. Our God was willing to take a low position and wash the feet of sinners, myself included. If I am to live like him, surely imitating him in that way is highly critical. It hasn't been easy to learn ways I don't look like him, but I know he is near and tending so thoughtfully to my heart. The staff at UTA Focus has been so good to me in spurring me on to look more like him!

Some fun things from this month!

Pizza theo! Focus puts on an event called pizza theology every fall and spring semester! All the campuses come together to learn about a specific book in the bible or topic at a collegiate level. For this fall pizza theo we had guest speaker Rikk Watts led us through a study on 1 and 2 Samuel! It was amazing!

All the reunions!

Cottage core 2022-2023

Blueberry Core 2023-2024

Denton Focus girls For Madai and Gordons engagement! Madai and Gordon are both masters students and have been involved with our ministry for several years. They are now embarking on the road to marriage and I couldn't be more excited for them! Several people spoke at their engagement party and it was so encouraging to hear their love for Jesus, others and each other. Praying for them as they move into a season of wedding planning!

Got to host some of my core girls!

Joint core for friends-giving! We did it over Acts 2:24 and got to share a meal together, worship, read the word and fellowship! It was such a fun night and was really well received.

Lastly a picture from an after event! About 30 of us went to IHOP! It was such a fun group! We do after events after every Thursday night fellowship to invite students into times of community building! Our student leaders host them, so shoutout to Juan for hosting this night!

This month was nothing short of things to be thankful for! I ended the month with my family for Thanksgiving and got to see 3 of my sisters! One of them I hadn't seen in 7 years! Its so nice to be together and I am so grateful for our relationship.

On this note of thankfulness I want to express my gratitude to you all! Your support to me and this ministry is something I am truly thankful for. Our campus is seeing God move and excited to see him continue to do so! I hope you and your family have an amazing holiday season as we approach the celebration of Christmas! Im looking forward to sharing the good news during such a cheerful time of year! I am praying for you always ❤

With so much love,
Madison
