March Update!

 Hello Friends!

I hope you are all doing well! I am excited to share about the month of February! 

This month flew by and felt so sweet with the theme of love being woven throughout it. I have had many conversations with students this month revolving around Ephesians! My core (small group) is doing a book study over it and this week we will be covering Ephesians 2! I am always cut to the heart in this chapter when I read verses 4-10. It is his love and grace that spurs us on to the good works he has prepared for us to do. I hope that can be an encouragement for us all. We cannot earn grace, but from the abundance that his gifted grace brings we are stirred towards living for him. Our "good works" we engage in are a response to the richness of his love and mercy! I hope that as we finish out this school year we may see his goodness woven through every moment! 

Outreach!

This month I got to start our official weekly outreach on campus! This is a time where we get to meet students and overall just serve the campus. My prayer for this is that it spurs our students to engage in evangelism and serving others. We have done things from Candy and engouragements, bracelet making, to asking people what they think love is! I am so thankful to have a couple students who have been really excited about this and have been showing up weekly! 





Pizza Theology!

If you remember from last semester we do something called Pizza Theology! This is where we invite our students to study a book or topic at a higher collegiate level. This Spring we decided to cover the topic of money! The goal was to really lean into the heart of scripture with this while giving lots of practicals (even steps on how to create a budget)! I have heard lots positive feedback from our students! This event is for all of our campuses so I was able to see some of my friends from TWU as well!





Super Bowl party!

Something I just love is that our community is always doing things together! One of our UTD staff hosted a super bowl party where we had around 80 people show up! It is such a joy to do things with other people!





Galentines

My apartment hosted 3 separate valentines (galentines) parties! It is so nice to have people over and celebrate! My roommates and I have such a sweet dynamic and it allows us to invite the community to join us in doing life together!

August Ministry Update!

Hello friends!!  Welcome to my first blog post! August has flown by but God is moving. August is one of the busiest months for college ministry as freshman are arriving and there are so many events put on by the campus and Focus!  Let's dive into this past month! August 1st started off with a boom! I had my first day of apprentice classes (we have been reading through the Old Testament) and we had our licensing ceremony. This is a photo of me and the other apprentices.   The next week we left for staff retreat where we all gathered to rest, and discuss the year ahead. It was honestly emotional for me being there and knowing that the people around me have such a heart for Christ and these students.   After staff retreat I spent a week in classes and then it was time to head into welcome week! February Update!

Hello Friends! Let's talk about January! Wow!! What a month! I feel like normally January last forever, but this one flew by. I think this has been my favorite month of ministry so far and I think God is doing some really exciting things! Winter Retreat! Every year our entire ministry comes together for winter retreat! It is a time of sermons, fellowship and lots of fun! This was my third year attending and getting to see what all goes into it from a new perspective just adds a whole new level of appreciation for those who plan it! From across our campuses we had around 700 in attendance! Praise God !  The week after retreat all I could reflect on was the story about Jesus feeding the 5000. I really got to see how much he can do with our "small" efforts. I think to the worlds standards, my small group of 8 girls wouldn't been impressive, but to God? Its so exciting! September Updates!!

Hi Friends! Another month has flown by and there's a lot to recap!  First I want to take a moment to thank you for your support in this ministry! I really pray and hope that as you read this you see the fruit of your generosity. I am truly thankful to be a witness to what God is doing here at UTA! This month was a more steady pace the first 2 weeks and included meeting with students, classes and getting adjusted to a new routine. This was really nice but with slowing down it also brought light to the major transitions I have been in the past few months. Moving away from Denton, my friends, and church was actually more difficult than I thought it would be. It has brought up feelings of gratitude for my community and left me wanting to build that here in Arlington. I have been navigating my routine while taking time to build connections and maintain connections. Jesus has been steady in all of it and for that I am grateful.
